Furniture Assembly Service: Discuss Your Move Requirements

Searching for a furniture assembly service? PHX Services can discuss dismantling and reassembly as part of a removal, where beds, flat-pack wardrobes and table legs commonly need attention for transport. Tell us which pieces are involved before booking. If you only need new flat-pack furniture assembled without a move, ask whether that standalone work is bookable.

Movers handling a large piece of furniture during a house move

What we do

PHX Services is based near Aylesbury HP22, with nationwide removals and home services generally covering about 40 miles. Include your postcode and explain whether the enquiry concerns a removal, an internal furniture move or assembly without transport. Those are different requests and should not be treated as interchangeable when discussing availability and scope.

Furniture varies considerably in construction and condition. A freestanding bed frame may come apart differently from a large wardrobe, while some pieces are not designed for repeated dismantling. Send photographs, dimensions and available instructions. Mention loose joints, missing fittings or previous alterations so the discussion reflects the actual item rather than its product name alone.

Plan dismantling around the route through the property

Taking furniture apart is not always necessary, and it is not automatically the safest option for every item. Door widths, stair turns and the item's dimensions help determine what needs considering. Explain access at both ends of a move, including narrow landings, low ceilings and lift size restrictions.

Where dismantling and reassembly are agreed, identify each piece clearly in the removal scope. State the intended room at the destination and check that the furniture will fit there. A piece that travelled in sections still needs sufficient floor space for reassembly and a suitable position once built, with doors and drawers able to open.

Understand what a standalone flat-pack enquiry involves

In general, flat-pack assembly means checking components against the instructions, joining panels and fittings in the stated order, and adjusting the finished item as its design requires. Some products also need wall restraint or particular fixings. These are general assembly considerations, not confirmation that every element can be included in a standalone booking.

If that is the work you need, provide the brand, model, quantity of items and a link to the instructions, then ask what can be accepted. Say whether the boxes are already in the intended room. Do not assume packaging removal, wall fixing, alterations or disposal of old furniture is included; each requirement needs a clear answer before booking.

Frequently asked questions

Can you dismantle furniture and reassemble it during a removal?+

Dismantling and reassembly are common requirements for items such as beds and flat-pack wardrobes during moves. Identify the pieces when requesting your removal quote so suitability and the work involved can be discussed. Do not leave an unmentioned wardrobe until loading begins and assume dismantling is included.

Can I book flat-pack assembly without booking a move?+

Please ask whether a standalone appointment is bookable for your address and furniture. Send the product details and instructions with your enquiry. Acceptance of an assembly-only request needs confirmation; it should not be assumed from the removal offering.

What if the furniture has missing screws or damaged panels?+

Mention this before agreeing work and include clear photographs. Missing fittings or damaged joints may prevent assembly or make reassembly unsuitable. Keep original hardware and instructions together where possible; replacement parts, repairs and modifications should not be assumed to form part of the requested work.

Should I empty furniture before it is dismantled?+

Discuss preparation when confirming the scope. Emptying wardrobes and drawers helps reveal fixings and reduces loose contents during handling. Packing services can be discussed separately if you need help preparing belongings. Keep an accessible record of which components and fittings belong to each item.
